Doctor Who and Orphan Black nominated for a Hugo Award!
An Adventure in Space and Time, Doctor Who: “The Day of the Doctor”, Doctor Who: “The Name of the Doctor”, The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot, and Orphan Black: “Variations under Domestication” have all been nominated for a Hugo Award in Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form!
The prestigious Hugo Awards, presented annually since 1955, are named after Hugo Gernsback, founder of the influential science fiction magazine, Amazing Stories. (x)
The winners will be announced on August 17th at the 2014 Hugo Awards ceremony. Congrats to all the nominees!
Robots are the topic of the premiere of The Real History of Science Fiction, airing tonight, Saturday, April 19th, following the season premiere of Orphan Black.
Narrated by Mark Gatiss, The Real History of Science Fiction will definitely cover Daleks and Cybermen!

As filming progresses on Doctor Who series eight, news of Peter Capaldi’s first series in the Tardis is steadily beginning to drip through. This time it has been confirmed that Mark Gatiss will write two episodes for the new Doctor.
The Sherlock show-runner revealed that “I am writing for Peter Capaldi – two episodes, in fact” while on a promotional BBC Worldwide tour of Brazil.
It’s been nine years since Doctor Who returned to television with Christopher Eccleston as the Ninth Doctor & Billie Piper as Rose Tyler, and we think that’s a great reason to celebrate. Happy nine years!
